ABOUT OUSIA

A contemporary research house where rigor, curiosity and artistic agency meet

A contemporary research house where rigor, curiosity and artistic agency meet

Ousia Orbis is a space for artists to question, refine and expand the way they work. Classical rigor sits alongside contemporary practice, repertory, creation and cross-training—not as separate disciplines, but as tools for deeper physical and artistic understanding.

The aim is not perfection. It is the moment something shifts: greater curiosity, clearer choices and more agency in how an artist moves, interprets and creates.

FOUNDER & ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Jon Bond

Jon Bond is a dancer, creator, educator and stager whose career has moved through Dance Theatre of Harlem, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet and Nederlands Dans Theater.

Ousia Orbis grows from that experience — and from a continuing interest in how rigor, curiosity and individual interpretation can coexist in artistic practice.

These practices are not treated as separate disciplines. Each becomes a way to sharpen attention, expand physical possibility and build greater freedom in how an artist interprets, responds and creates.
